Your teacher

Hi! I’m Oksana Karataj

A professional classical pianist and qualified teacher, laureate of national and international competitions.

  • ESMUC, Barcelona
  • LMTA — Master of Performance
  • LMTA — Master of Art Pedagogy

I believe music is one of the greatest wonders of the world, and getting to know and understand it is fascinating. That is why I have always been convinced that learning music should be fun and free of stress!

The teaching method is chosen individually for each student’s age, needs and abilities. And we choose the repertoire together! We play everything — from classical and folk music and jazz to rock and arrangements of popular songs.

How the studio began

While I was studying, looking for new teaching tools, I wrote my master’s thesis on “Using information and communication technologies in a piano teacher’s work”. Its experimental part showed that music-learning software, interactive scores and even music computer games motivate students, help them learn theory more easily and quickly, and noticeably improve their results. That is how Amadeus was born: the classical school and modern teaching in one lesson.

What the lessons cover

At our studio you will learn

  1. 01

    To read music

Interactive scores help you learn the language of music faster.

    More

The interactive scores we use in lessons will help you understand and learn the language of music faster.

Which note is it? Press its key.

  2. 02

    To feel the rhythm

We feel the beat with djembe drums, an egg shaker and rhythm sticks.

    More

We do rhythm exercises with percussion instruments — African djembe drums, an egg shaker and rhythm sticks.

    Quarter, quarter, half.

  3. 03

    To play by ear

You’ll recognise notes and chords by ear and pick out tunes without sheet music.

    More

You will learn to recognise notes and chords by ear, so you can pick out and play the melodies you hear on your own, without sheet music.

    12 12

Is the second sound higher or lower than the first?

  4. 04

    To compose

From the first lessons we improvise and make up our own melodies.

    More

From the very first lessons we will improvise and make up simple melodies. And if you want to take your own music more seriously, we will teach you the basics of music theory, harmony and composition, and how to write your music down by hand and with notation software.

    CDEGA

Play anything — it all fits!

  5. 05

    To accompany yourself

Learn to accompany your own singing and to play in an ensemble.

    More

If you like to sing, we can teach you to accompany your own singing on the piano. At our studio you can also learn to accompany professional singers and to play in an ensemble with other musicians (guitarists, saxophonists and violinists).

  6. 06

    To express yourself

Every year we give concerts in Vilnius halls — or record a video without an audience.

    More

Every year we hold music evenings in concert halls around Vilnius, where we share what we have learned. Those who would rather not perform in front of others can record a video of their performance without an audience.
